About the Position
123JUNK is the Washington DC area’s fastest-growing unwanted items redistribution service. We are expanding our Fleet Team to support our rapid growth! We’re looking for dedicated Non-CDL Truck Drivers to join us in a dynamic work environment that values commitment, professionalism, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate medium-sized open-bed dump truck
- Interact professionally with customers
- Load/unload unwanted items and distribute to charity, recycling facilities and disposal sites
- Ensure compliance with all traffic and safety regulations
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving experience
- Available on Saturdays (required)
- Can lift and carry 100+ pounds repeatedly
- Must pass a background check
- Must own & effectively operate a smart phone
- Lives within a 30-mile commute of Chantilly, VA and has reliable transportation
Work Commitments
Demonstrates the ability to receive and execute instructions. Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and esprite de corps for the organization. Exhibits a positive/”can-do” attitude throughout the workday and challenging situations. Understands and follows protocol and chain of command. Adheres to the company’s uniform policy. Learns and begins to act as company brand ambassador. Monitor and relay job related communications to and from the office or other teams. Effectively communicates on an as needed basis with customers, including a call ahead to clients to coordinate arrival time and parking considerations. Effectively and respectfully contributes to team discussions. In a timely manner, communicates any security or safety concerns to other Operators, Leads, or company leadership.
Lead and train Navigators in the execution of daily work duties. Comprehension of highway/road limitations in relation to laws governing permissible vehicles and resilience to course correction for unforeseen route complications. Fully comply with company policies and procedures. Demonstrate basic problem solving ability by recognizing early and responding to issues that arise throughout the workday and/or jobsite in a timely and responsive nature. Fosters and exhibits a “one team” mentality. Acts in a manner that supports and promotes company core values and instills positivity and respect in the workforce. Coordinates and strategizes with field leadership on a daily basis regarding job activities and schedules. Advises lead(s) of any/all concerns pre/post job activities. Effectively reports in our Fleet Management systems any issues regarding assigned assets throughout the day, to include any workplace injuries or environmental concerns.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Has a driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving experience & permissible driving record, including truck driving experience
- 21 y.o. or older (unless exempted by insurance)
- Can pass a background check; No theft or violent adverse actions in background, and no felonies
- Can lift and carry 100+ pounds repeatedly
- Positive Attitude; Possesses strong customer service skills, problem resolution skills, and a friendly demeanor
- History of reliability and punctuality and overall work ethic
- Must own & effectively operate a smart phone
- Lives within a 30-mile commute of Chantilly, VA and has reliable transportation
