Originally inhabited by the Piscataway and Nacotchtank people, the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, DC was purchased in the late 18th century by the wealthy Carroll family, who used it as a country estate. It was later sold to the government in the early 1800s and developed as a residential neighborhood.

Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, Foggy Bottom was primarily a working-class neighborhood, home to factory workers and laborers. It became known as a center for African American culture, with a thriving music and arts scene. In the mid-20th century, Foggy Bottom underwent significant changes as the government built the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Watergate complex and The George Washington University. It also became a hub for many government agencies and offices.

Today, Foggy Bottom is a vibrant, diverse neighborhood that residents and visitors alike enjoy for its culture, history, educational opportunities, dining, entertainment, and proximity to the heart of Washington, DC.

Home and Office Furniture Removal in Foggy Bottom

The streets in Washington, DC are narrow, and parking can usually be an issue when you’re trying to bring in a truck. That’s why homeowners, renters and office managers call on 123JUNK when they need to remove unwanted furniture.

There’s no easier way to donate or dispose of furniture you no longer need or want than to contact 123JUNK. We know the ins and outs of maneuvering through the Foggy Bottom neighborhoods and our professional team members can quickly and safely take this job off your hands.

When you donate home or office furniture, we deliver it on your behalf to one of our area charity partners, who in turn use it to support local community initiatives. You’ll receive a receipt for your donation for tax deductions. If your furniture is not in great shape, we’ll look for what we can recycle and take electronics, wood, paper and other recyclables to the appropriate recycling centers.

Our ultimate goal is to follow our 1-2-3 philosophy of donate-recycle-dispose because we believe it’s important that we all do our part to protect our environment. Another benefit you’ll appreciate is our flat-fee pricing. You won’t have to worry about extra charges with us. It’s all included in our quote.
