Our Goal is Your Goal: Protecting Our Environment
At 123JUNK, we made a commitment to doing whatever we can to help protect our natural environment. Like residents of Great Falls, we enjoy nature and want to preserve it for this and future generations. That’s why we created our 1-2-3 process of donate-recycle-dispose on which we founded our business.
Donate: We donate appliances in good condition and working order to one of our local charity partners where they can be repurposed for families in need. You’ll feel good about helping others.
Recycle: Since old appliances contain chemicals and components that can be hazardous to the environment—like oils, refrigerants and PCBs—they must be recycled. A landfill won’t accept them. Our team is trained in the correct methods and locations where appliances are accepted.
Dispose: For items that don’t fit the other categories, we make a final trip to the landfill.

Suburban Living Surrounded by Natural Wonders
Great Falls, Virginia is rooted in Native American settlements who used the nearby Potomac River for transportation, fishing and trade. Then as European settlers moved in and used the land for its fertile land for farming and agriculture, and harnessed the powerful flow of the river to power various mills and factories.
In the mid-20th century, Great Falls Park, managed by the National Park Service, was established to protect the scenic landscape and provide recreational opportunities. The park encompasses the impressive Great Falls of the Potomac, a series of cascading waterfalls and rapids.
Today, Great Falls is known for its affluent neighborhoods and scenic beauty, with homeowners focused on preserving its natural surroundings. The area’s large homes and estates, excellent schools, close-knit community, and the area’s rural and historic character attract residents seeking balance between suburban living and nature.
Our 1-2-3 Process
123JUNK doesn’t just load our trucks with your contents and haul them to the dump. We have a defined process for sorting and donating your items to a robust network of local municipalities, school districts and nonprofit organizations. We can even provide disposal reports for LEED certification, with a breakdown of where your items were distributed. Our objective is to keep your items out of the landfill.

You select the junk you want removed. We take it to one of many local donation partners. Your unused items make it to a good cause!
If it can’t be donated, we take care to ensure that as many items are recycled as possible. Our goal from the start: reduce landfill waste.
After items have been donated and recycled, the remaining items get hauled away as safely and carefully as possible. See what we take!
Appliance Removal FAQs
My appliance is in perfect working order. Will you donate it
Yes. We find that many Great Falls residents upgrade appliances during kitchen renovations, not because they are broken. We prioritize donating these high-quality units to partners like Habitat for Humanity or NVFS. If we successfully donate your item, we will provide you with a tax-deductible receipt for your records.
Can you remove appliances from a basement or second-floor laundry room?
Yes. You do not need to move the item to the curb. We provide full-service removal from any room in the house. We have the manpower and equipment (appliance dollies, straps) to navigate winding staircases or finished basements safely.
Do you take outdoor kitchen appliances?
Yes. We can remove built-in outdoor grills, mini-fridges, and kegerators from your patio or pool house.
Note: Gas lines must be capped/disconnected by a professional before we arrive. Once disconnected, we can pull the unit and haul it away.
I have a long, steep driveway. Is that an issue for your trucks?
Not at all. We are very familiar with Great Falls properties. Our drivers are skilled at navigating long, private driveways. We can also coordinate with you regarding gate codes to access the property efficiently
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry significant General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance. When you invite workers into a high-value property, you need to know you are protected. Our uniformed, background-checked employees provide a level of professionalism that “man with a truck” services cannot match.
