Appliance Removal While Protecting the Environment
Our core values reflect 123JUNK’s commitment to our environment. That’s why we developed our 1-2-3 process of donate-recycle-dispose. If your old appliance is in good and working condition, we can donate it to one of our local charity partners where it can find a new life.
If the appliance is beyond hope, our next option is the local recycling center. Since appliances contain hazardous materials like oil, refrigerants, lead and mercury, for example, they cannot be dumped at the area landfill. Their components and materials must be disposed of properly.
Then only as the last resort, we’ll take whatever is left over to the landfill to dispose of it there. It’s our way of demonstrating our responsibility to our future generations.

A Thriving Community in Gainesville, VA
In the 1700s, Gainesville, Virginia was an important center of military activity, with the 1781 Battle of Kettle Run becoming a key moment in our country’s war for independence. Since then, the area has developed rapidly, from farmland to a growing suburban community known for its high-quality schools and attractive homes. With a growing economy, Gainesville is home to many major employers, businesses and job opportunities.
Residents of Gainesville enjoy its proximity to Washington DC and local entertainment, dining and shopping options including Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater, local wineries and vineyards, and a charming town center. For outdoor lovers, favorite attractions include the Manassas National Battlefield Park with its hiking and biking trails, and Prince William Forest Park, one of the largest national parks in the eastern United States.
Our 1-2-3 Process
123JUNK doesn’t just load our trucks with your contents and haul them to the dump. We have a defined process for sorting and donating your items to a robust network of local municipalities, school districts and nonprofit organizations. We can even provide disposal reports for LEED certification, with a breakdown of where your items were distributed. Our objective is to keep your items out of the landfill.

You select the junk you want removed. We take it to one of many local donation partners. Your unused items make it to a good cause!
If it can’t be donated, we take care to ensure that as many items are recycled as possible. Our goal from the start: reduce landfill waste.
After items have been donated and recycled, the remaining items get hauled away as safely and carefully as possible. See what we take!
Appliance Removal Service FAQs
Do you recycle appliances with Freon?
Yes. We strictly adhere to Prince William County and federal environmental regulations. Refrigerators, freezers, and A/C units contain refrigerants that must be carefully drained before the metal can be recycled. We handle this responsible disposal process for you, so you don’t have to worry about polluting.
My washing machine still works. Will you donate it?
Absolutely. Our mission is to Donate-Recycle-Dispose. If your appliance is in working condition and decent shape, we will try to donate it to our local charity partners (like Habitat for Humanity or NVFS). If we succeed, you get the tax-deductible receipt!
I live in a community with a strict HOA (like Virginia Gateway or Lake Manassas). Are your trucks allowed?
Yes. Our trucks are professional, clean, and residential-friendly. We are fully insured and experienced in working within gated communities and HOA neighborhoods throughout the 20155 area. We work quickly and respectfully to ensure no complaints from neighbors.
Can you remove a built-in dishwasher or microwave?
We can remove them, but they must be disconnected first.
Plumbing/Gas: Must be disconnected by a professional plumber.
Hardwired Electric: Must be disconnected by an electrician.
Simple Plug-ins: We can unplug and remove these immediately. Once the unit is loose and free from the cabinetry, we can slide it out and haul it away.
Do you take water heaters?
Yes, provided the tank has been fully drained and disconnected from all water and power lines before we arrive. We can haul it up from the basement and dispose of it responsibly.
