Junk Removal is a seasonal business. Perhaps it’s not seasonal the way a landscape company or a pool cleaning service is, but if I had it my way, it’d be summer all year round! In the slower winter months, we try to pay closer attention to where our business is coming from. We like to know which sources we can rely on all year round to ensure we continue growing.
So as we always do this time of year, we spent a few hours last week, crunching numbers and studying our data. We were ASTOUNDED by what we learned! So astounded, in fact, that I felt compelled to write this blog.
For the three months of November thru January, 65% of our business came from Word of Mouth Referrals! That’s nearly 2 out of every 3 clients we served. To add some perspective, we went on 136 unique service appointments in November. Here’s the impressive part; of those referrals, nearly 75% of the clients had used us before! Let me remind you that Junk Removal, by nature, is a one and done industry.
My Apologies if the tone of this blog comes off a bit braggy, but based on those figures, I’d say it’s almost appropriate. After all, were not bragging about how much business we did. We’re just bragging about where it came from. I’ve always felt that referrals are a great testament to the level of service a company provides. Repeat business, even more so!
At 123JUNK, we’ve always believed that if you invest as much energy into the client experience as you do into sales and business generation, the business will come to you. As we grow, we’ll see if we can maintain these referral to non-referral percentages. But for now, those are some percentages that we at 123JUNK feel pretty darn good about!
